NEPAThe National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) requires every federal government agency within the executive branch (excluding the Office of the President) to undertake an assessment of the potential environmental effects and project alternatives of proposed federal actions. States typically have similar requirements for certain state funded projects.
48 NORTH provides professional services throughout the lifecycle of the NEPA process. We begin by working closely with the client’s team during the conceptual design phase to identify environmental considerations and project logistics issues. 48 NORTH performs or manages the necessary environmental studies and prepares the necessary documents including: Proposed Action and Alternative Analysis, Categorical Exclusion, Environmental Assessment, or requisite portions of the Environmental Impact Statement (as required). Our staff also performs and manages interagency coordination, public notification and informational meetings, and has extensive experience preparing the public record, Coastal Consistency Determination, Notice of Availability, Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Record of Decision (ROD) for the lead agency. In addition, we have extensive experience preparing Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, and Categorical Exclusion documentation for the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Forestry Service, and Bureau of Land Management. |
